One of my all-time favorite guitarists, Eric Clapton, has just released a memoir – the aptly titled Clapton. And I’m pretty tempted to order it, if it really is as “remarkably frank,” as EW.com reviews it. One of the excerpts in this week’s issue -“Clapton says he told George Harrison he’d play the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh only if provided a steady supply of heroin. But Clapton experienced “cold turkey” on the eve of the shows when the smack turned out to be “a tenth as strong as what I was used to.”
