Idolator’s got a leak of a new Scorpions track, “The Cross,” that features some guest vocals by a certain brooding, shiny-headed, James Iha-hating frontman.
I just heard the new SP single on DC101 (the last half, anyway).
I'm not quite sure what I think; there are some great, complex-sounding guitar bits I really like, and then there's this marching-band like drum beat background that makes the song sound pop-y. Does that make any sense.
Post the song on your website so I can listen 100x and make a pronouncement from that!
Okay - I just listened to "The Cross" and ... ick... it's so bland. I mean, you could have pulled that song off a Kix or Winger album from the late 80s. It's like the boiled white rice equivalent of rock.
Snore.
It's sad, because I love "Rock me like a Hurricane" and, better yet and as a German scholar, "Winds of Change."
