I had wanted to listen to some Billy Joe Shaver for awhile - he's got a reputation as a great Texas songwriter, along with being a tough guy who shoots people. But I've had so many individuals in my "people I want to listen to" list, it's hard to remember 'em all. Anyway, Pete just sent me a link to this story about Billy Joe's blasting a bar patron in the mouth with a .22 (don't worry, BJS is out on bail) from a little bit ago. Which, of course, finally inspired me to go over to Billy Joe Shaver's MySpace, and take a listen to his stuff. I'm really digging "Live Forever" and "Freedom's Child" alot - I just might have to pick myself up some BJS in my next Amazon order.

Oooh, BJS is good. Oh how I wish I could find guys like him to see live in DC/NoVa.
