Interesting how on last night's episode's of Scrubs (cast commentary here), all the different characters got a chance to shine and narrate their own thoughts. Might this be in preparation for Zach Braff's eventual departure?

Zach is not leaving the show next season. He signed up and he said in his latest blog he will stick around.
True, and he's got that fat contract, should Scrubs get picked up for another year. I just wonder if there's some sort of opt-out in it, like if he gets a big movie deal. All the same, it was interesting to see how things were for an episode without him...
I was thinking the same thing. I hadn't heard that he signed on for another season, so I was kind of pissed that, with only a few episodes left in the season, they effectively did a throw-away episode. Sure, it could be seen as a move away from JD to ramp up to a season without him, but I think we all know the show won't make it without him, so why bother?
But, now that I'm privy to this one-more-year news, I'm sort of OK with it.
