Gravelly-voiced and hailing from Chester, PA, Matthew Ryan brings an intimate style of songwriting to indie-rock. His albums have ranged from the ragged Springsteen-esque rock of his debut May Day, to the triumphant-sounding East Autumn Grin (my personal favorite), to a very pensive Concussion. Below are a couple of tracks from Ryan’s current solo release, Regret Over the Wires, where he mixes electronic rhythms and sounds with his insightful lyrics.
