Regardless

i just finished reading James Frey's A Million Little Pieces. there's been some recent claims contesting the accuracy of this "true" story of addiction and detox, and i haven't been following them very closely. but regardless, this is one of the most riveting, amazing books that i've ever read, fiction or non-fiction.

*thanks to CC
for the book

The author passed off fiction as fact. I'm surprised that wouldn't tarnish it in your mind.

And it's a disgrace that bloated windbag Oprah Winfrey continues to shill for Frey, acting as if we shouldn't care that it's A Million Little Lies.

pete, did you actually read it?

No, I did not.

It was on my list. But I took it off when it became known that he had fabricated the portions of the book that everyone found heart-wrenching.

While I wouldn't rank his deception on the same line as plagiarism, it's close. He should have presented it as fiction.
