A Case of the Fridays

Now I don't watch The O.C., and I'm a tad late getting into
Death Cab For Cutie, I admit. But that doesn't change the fact that "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" is one beautiful acoustic love song.

And we close with the track "Our Time," by local band
ADHD. I'm a sucker for big soaring vocals with anthemic choruses, what can I say? And if you like what you hear, check out ADHD live at DC9 on January 24th.

Death Cab is great. Haven't I told you before that the OC is a great show? Okay, the plot's a little thin, but the music is always good!

Yeah, I'm a bit late on Death Cab for Cutie, too... I heard "License and Registration" while back, and it did nothing for me. Then suddenly you weren't cool if you didn't have a Death Cab album, and that was it for me. Not that I'm one of those guys who can't be into the hot new thing, but it's embarrassing to be the last one to own it, y'know?

After seeing them on SNL last week, I picked up their new album on a whim.

I've only listened to it twice, but my first reaction is that it's a bit tedious.

I much prefer "Castaways and Cutouts" from the Decemberists, which I picked up at the same time.
