Friday Night Lights

i went and saw Matt Nathanson at the 9:30 Club this past Friday. opening up was Charlotte Martin - and Charlotte Martin was good. although she played a very short set, her immense vocal talent easily shined through - usually it was coupled with her percussive piano stylings (kind of like a less jazzy Fiona Apple). her songs were good enough, and any shortcomings were made up for by her strong stage presence, even though it's tough to communicate with the audience from a piano bench.

matty put on a kick ass show, as usual. this was the first time i've seen him with a full band - i've seen him solo, and i've seen him w/ matt fish (cellist) - and they rocked.
