Some Rock

as it sit here, watching "office space," i'll write a bit on the show that i just saw with christine last night at cary hudson opened the show - i'd seen him before with his band opening for marah, and he kicked ass - unfortunately, this time, it was cary by himself with his guitar - not so much kick ass. the sound is just not there, and cary's just not free to rock and play scorching guitar... still, his best song, "Things Just Ain't What They Used to Be," still packs a punch, with my favorite tag line, "ain't no more Indians in Indianola, ain't no more cocaine in Coca-Cola, ain't no more you in you and me, things just ain't how they used to be."

then john eddie and his band came on stage and rocked the place. he had great stage presence, kind of like a buzzed combination of john travolta and bruce springsteen, and his songwriting is sharp as a tack. he started late, at 10:00, but, fueled by Stoli, he was still putting on a great show when i left at 12:30 (hey, i get tired!)...
